A Southern California native, Mr. Chavez began his training in Karate in 1985. He earned his First Degree Black Belt in 1992 and then his Second Degree in 1996. He also earned a First Degree in Kenpo in 2000 and holds a Second Degree in Tae Kwon Do. Mr. Chavez has trained in Judo, Aikido, Tang So Do and kickboxing. He began teaching karate in 1989 and has been teaching at Frederick Martial Arts since 2013.
Mr. Ames began his martial arts training in 1998 in Tae Kwon Do/ Tang So Do style. He earned a Black Belt in 2004 and continued his training and earned a Second Degree 2006. He began teaching at Frederick Martial Arts in September 2014 and is a Senior Instructor.
Ms. Hayden began studying martial arts in her early 20’s. She earned her black belt in 2018. She also reached a yellow belt in Gumdo, a green belt in Shōrin-ryū karate, and an assistant black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do. In addition, Ms. Hayden was one of Frederick Martial Arts first students in the fall of 2013 and subsequently FMA’s first Black Belt!
Ms. Turner started training in Tae Kwon Do in Frederick in 2013. She earned her Black Belt in 2018. After transferring to Frederick Martial Arts in 2014, she became an Assistant Instructor. She’s been involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts since 2010 and has served as a Cubmaster for three years. Ms. Turner is a Level 1 Archery instructor certified with USA Archery. She is also a retired U.S. Army Reserve Officer with 23 years of service.
Mr. Turner started at Frederick Martial Arts in 2014 and continued to train until he earned his black belt in 2018. He attends Middletown High School and has a Life rank in the Boy Scouts. Mr. Turner has been teaching at Frederick Martial Arts for over a year and has found it a fun and hardworking environment.
